Newport Beach: Harbor Tradition and Fireworks on the Water
Newport Beach leans into its waterfront identity on the Fourth, and the harbor is the star of the show.

Mission Viejo
For an inland, family-first option, the Mission Viejo July 4th Street Faire and Fireworks Spectacular runs from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Olympiad between Marguerite and Melinda, with live entertainment, rides, food trucks, and a fireworks finale at 9:00 p.m. This is a great example of the kind of community programming that makes Mission Viejo so popular with families.
North County: Anaheim Hills
Anaheim Hills runs one of the most complete day-long programs in the county, perfect if you want activities from sunrise to the final firework.

A handful of OC cities permit state-approved Safe and Sane fireworks for residential use around the holiday, while many do not. Rules vary significantly from city to city, and the penalties for illegal fireworks can be steep. If you plan to set off your own, always check your specific city's current ordinance first.
